RDAP Lookup

About RDAP Lookup

Last reviewed: October 28, 2026.

RDAP Lookup is a static, browser-based reader for public registration data. Enter a domain, IP address, or autonomous system number; the client uses IANA’s public bootstrap registries to find the designated RDAP service, then asks that service directly from your browser.

It is not a registration database, a WHOIS proxy, or a claim that every registry response is complete. The source response remains the record; the compact reading helps you inspect it.

Look up resources from your address bar

RDAP Lookup provides an OpenSearch description so supporting browsers can discover it as a search engine. Adding or activating it depends on your browser. In Chrome, check Settings → Search engine → Manage search engines and site search after visiting this site, then activate RDAP Lookup if it appears under inactive shortcuts.

You can also add a site-search shortcut manually using https://rdaplookup.org/lookup/?q=%s as the URL and rdap as the shortcut. Once configured, enter the shortcut in your address bar, press Tab or Space as your browser requires, and type a domain, IP address, or ASN, such as example.com, 8.8.8.8, or AS15169.

Privacy and availability

See the Privacy page for what this site stores, what other parties can see, and how query URLs behave. See Methodology for discovery, query formation, redirects, and the limits of the returned data.

This application does not maintain a search-history database. IANA can see your IP address when the browser loads public bootstrap files, but the resource you enter is not sent to IANA. The selected RDAP service receives your resource query and IP address. Query URLs may remain in browser history, bookmarks, shared links, or ordinary hosting logs, as explained on the Privacy page. Some authoritative services do not permit browser cross-origin requests. Those lookups cannot succeed from a static client alone.
